Not every project requires owning a plotter. Sometimes you need one on a job site for two months, or in a bid room for three weeks, or at a trade show booth for four days. Jersey Plotters offers short-term rentals for exactly these situations.
Here is what you need to know.
Common Rental Use Cases
Construction trailers and job sites.
Large construction projects benefit from having a plotter on-site rather than relying on prints produced in the main office. When the site superintendent needs an updated drawing set at 7 AM, waiting for prints to arrive from an office across town is not practical. A plotter in the trailer means the latest drawing revisions are available on demand. RFI markups, change orders, and daily coordination drawings can all be produced as needed without a delivery lag.
For projects in New Jersey lasting 2 to 12 months, a rental avoids the cost and logistics of purchasing equipment that will sit idle after the project closes.
Bid rooms and proposal preparation.
Competitive bid submissions often require full-size drawing sets produced on short notice. A bid room rental puts a fast, reliable plotter on hand for the days leading up to submission without tying up a long-term equipment budget. We can typically deliver and set up equipment within 24 to 48 hours in New Jersey.
Trade shows and conventions.
Exhibitors who need to produce large-format graphics on-site benefit from a rental rather than shipping heavy equipment or paying a print shop’s rush rates. A 36-inch or 42-inch plotter at your booth means you can print banners, diagrams, and presentation materials on demand throughout the event.
Overflow capacity for busy periods.
Firms that own plotters but hit volume peaks during large project pushes sometimes need a second unit for a few weeks. A rental covers the overflow without adding permanent overhead.
What Is Included in a Rental
A standard Jersey Plotters rental includes:
- The plotter and scanner unit, configured and tested before delivery
- Initial setup and driver installation at your location
- Ink or toner consumables for the rental period (up to an agreed monthly volume)
- Technical support by phone during business hours
- Pickup at the end of the rental term
Media (paper rolls) is provided separately or can be added to the rental package. We carry bond paper, vellum, and specialty media.
For job site rentals, we recommend a 36-inch unit with integrated scanner. For trade show use, we can configure a color inkjet unit capable of producing graphics-quality output.
Rental Pricing
Short-term rental pricing varies based on equipment type, rental duration, and delivery distance within New Jersey.
General ranges:
- 36-inch monochrome plotter: $350 to $600 per month
- 36-inch printer/scanner combo: $500 to $800 per month
- 42-inch production unit: $700 to $1,100 per month
- Daily rates for event rentals: available on request
Delivery, setup, and pickup within New Jersey are typically included for rentals of 30 days or more. For shorter-term or event rentals, a delivery fee may apply depending on distance.
We do not charge for support calls or troubleshooting during the rental period. If the machine has a problem, we fix it or swap it.
What to Tell Us When You Call
To get an accurate rental quote, it helps to know:
- Project location and type (job site, office, event)
- Approximate rental start and end dates
- Expected print volume per week or month
- Whether you need color or monochrome output
- Whether scanning capability is required
We can usually confirm availability and provide a written quote within a few hours for standard requests.
The Alternative: Short-Term Lease
If your project runs longer than 6 months and you might want to keep the equipment afterward, a short-term lease with a buyout option may cost less than a rental over the same period. We can walk you through both options and run the numbers so you can make an informed decision.
